peek fan print question.

When I printed the fan enclosure.. the "slot" where the fan goes in.. seems kinda big, the fan is loose. Am I not printing correctly or is this how it should be? I'm not sure if the attached pictures show what I'm asking... but here they are.
Thank you.

Looks too big to me.. mine is a very snug fit all round.
Sure you've not accidentally scaled it up before printing.. does it slot into your printer properly?
Pics of a spare I've got.. it's not the original fan but exactly the same size.

The right STL on a properly setup and calibrated machine should make the fan very tight, to the point you probably will have to file it. I filed a little too much off mine and shimmed it in with Kapton tape, but even if the slot is the only thing wrong, that would be a lot to shim.

well, I haven't try to install it yet.. so not sure there (at work so I can't mess with it till I get home.)
I didn't change anything, that I know of as far as scaling.. I did try to print twice, with the same results.. reloading the file both times... also, mine does not have the 'grid' on the front, it looks more like the version in the docs.. an open view to the fan. Did I use the wrong STL? (70766 Exfan Shroud R2)
In thinking about it, I on screen the openings are round, but it printed oblong width.. so I'm guessing I did do something wrong. Guess more trials to figure it out.. ( after I learn how to clean the extruder.. I've apparently clogged it.. )
I like your fan cover with the grid.. is there an STL for it?

Sorry I wasn't thinking as I'd modified the original STL with a fan guard and that's what my spare is.. apologies for the confusion.
Simple mod but it's here:
If it doesn't fit/slot in correctly to the aluminium standoff bars then you'll know for certain it's the wrong size.

If your fan is that loose(several mm on the sides) then your scale is off. As above. It should be really tight. I did have to file mine some also.

I am having a similar issue, I have the rostock max 2. I first printed the fan enclosure and another file and it was not perfect but correct size. I then reprinted them the next day and everything is printing nicer but larger. I am using the matter control and the stl. file directed from the manual, unchanged, from the web site. matter control says it is to print 33.
I printed the blower fan it showed 33.30 mm on the x direction and I am measuring it finished at 35.24 mm. ratio is set to one.
I cannot find for the life of me why it is scaling it up. can any one tell me where a setting could be that would throw it off?
any direction would be appreciated.
