If the SD card print doesn't work with the G-code I will post an iMac bug with links to these threads.
Thanks.

Well understand that printing from the SD card isn't going to help if the generated gcode is bad.

But if it does print from the sd card, it shows that mattercontol is the culprit.

I would be astonished if the sd print worked and the host print didn't. They're both delivering the same gcode.

100% agree Gene, I think he should totally stop using matter control in favor for any other standalone slicer and print from his SD card.

Thanks for all the input.
I'm printing a pen holder for my daughter (no fill) right now.
Kinda amazing but I actually have to find my SD card reader.

. Then I willm try!!

Multiple attempt with multiple different STL files and no infill. Reloaded an old MC slicer which was the original file I recieved for the V2. It still didn't create the infill.
I still need to try the SD card. Found my old reader but my iMac doesn't recognize it. Will keep working on it.
MC Fail to Build the Infill - Figured it out - "Spiral Vase"

Tried the SD card with the G-code from Slic3r which turned on the bed but not the HotEnd. But as I type this I think I remember reading that somewhere some prints heat the bed first then the tip. So maybe that was OK?? Will plug the SD in again soon. At least I have begun to work through and understand Slic3r, KISS Slicer and Cura. I've learned much with this problem.
Most importantly I figured out the fill issue!!!
Spiral Vase!! When I unchecked the Spiral Vase checkbox the fill problem went away.!!!
I'm not sure why since the parts I have been printing have been single parts.
I also learned that on MC I can generate the G-code in the layer view before printing which allowed me to quickly scroll through the print to see if the infill had been built. This allowed me to delete all my saved slice configurations, load the "standard" and quickly step by step work through each option until I found the gremlin.
Printing AGAIN!!!

Three Prints and still building the infill.
Talking with friends it becomes clear that Spiral vase, as the name would imply, is perimeter only! Dooohh! Is obvious now!! A bit smarter today!!

Damn checkboxes. They'll accidently start world war 3 some day.
Under fire control test procedures. Checkbox labeled "check box to fire missile".
"Leave box checked when testing missile launch system"

I suspect that when I was trying multiple sequential changes, one change that worked was switching to one of my config files which did not have this checked. It doesn't explain why one print failed right after another was successful without any changes in MC.
Do some STL files (as previously posted) by design or shape allow a fill and Spiral Vase? I will continue to take note and see what happens with different prints.

Man, I really hate it when I'm doing multiple sequential cabbages and only one comes out.

I like the cabbages as well (I edited away cabbages for changes FYI). Darn iPhone and auto correct. Oh wait the real problem is my fat thumbs!!

Well no, the problem is using a telephone to post messages to a forum, but that's just my pet peeve.

Point well taken.... and I do agree, while they facilitate discussion, phones do often impact and effect in a negative way a succinct and clear forum message.
In principle, I did wait until I could log on with my PC to reply to your post.

Just a comment on the whole Matter Control seems to only make settings changes when it wants to idea(vaguely referenced above)..
Has anyone had issues with speed settings not being reflected when you change them? If I print something slow, say 40mm/sec and then set it to 120mm/sec for another print and go back to something I want to print at 40mm/sec, it still prints at 120mm/sec !!! Only way I've found to stop this is to restart Matter Control.
Anyone else ever see this?

If I understand correctly, I may have had this problem. I initially set up different slice configuration files. However, I noticed when I changed parameters in another configuration file (i.e. speed as you mention), my other configuration files changes to the same settings. I have not tried restarting MC. I have effectively used only one file and changed parameters as needed/wanted.

I have noticed exactly that same issue also, even just using one profile I've had the speed not change issue...
Spiral Vase

To follow up I've now been printing for a week and have had no trouble with building the infill.
FYI here is a description of Spral Vase.
The 'Spiral Vase' options forces the print to have only one layer and increases the extruder height during the print. When this is selected it does not generate support material or infill.
