My name is Richard, I'm in the SF Bay Area in Oakland. I'm really looking forward to getting my kit. I visited with my great-nieces a few weeks ago and showed them a slew of things on Thingiverse - all they said was "That's So COOL!"
I went to college in Chicago at the Institute of Design at IIT, not too far from Goshen. Back in the dim mist, and yes this will date me, I did wire-frame modeling with punch cards - when you had to submit that fat deck to the window and had to have permission to get in and print out my job on the plotter.
This is a whole new world, but that g-code sure looks familiar to the what I coded in FORTRAN.
I'm really excited about it. Mostly I do Salesforce.com cloud customization, but I know the Rostock MAX will add to my craft-oriented projects - I service and repair knitting machines, and am looking forward to making gears and yarn winding and manipulation things.

Thank you for sharing. Of course, when Oly & I see something like those knitting machines, we want to slap on some motors and automate!
