Just retired after selling my 33 year CNC company (machining centers, no printing), purchased by one of my original employees to carry thing on. Decided I needed a hobby, so just bought the RoStock Max v2, along with 5 items I didn't have on the tools list, and 2 spools of ABS (white and red), and a sampler kit of 8 PLA colors. Looking forward to ask a million questions as they arise. I installed Cura on my PC, which didn't seem to have RoStock settings. I have not read through the 2 guides yet, so I won't start asking until I do. I did import an stl file and it looks great. That's as far as I've gotten. Hope to have the kit by end of next week and some toys built by Christmas.

Welcome. You might want to look into KISSlicer, or Slic3r for free options for slicing software or Simplify3D for a paid option. They provide more control over parameters that you may be used to from the CNC world.

From what I've read "the best" slicers in order are:
1. Simplify3D
2. Cura
3. KissSlicer
4. Slic3r
I might give Slic3r a shot though, since it seems the easiest to learn.
My first picture of where my MaxV2 will go:
