Hello,
So I'm trying to print a simple round bushing out of silver pla. I'm using my Rostock V2 equipped with an E3D V6 hot end sporting a .4mm brass nozzle. Print temps are 200C hot end and 75C heated bed.
The over all length is supposed to be 1" nominal, but the actual print fell .075" short. My first layer thickness is .333 and after that, .275. I'm printing with a .2 infill. I understand having to compensate for shrinkage in diameter, but does this also apply to "Z" depth? My models are created using Solidworks and then saved as .stl files, I'm using the latest version of Mattercontrol software.
Thanks,
Cris

Re: Missing material
Have you tried to print the bushing using a .2 layer height for all layers?
Also make sure to set z0 using a piece of paper between the bed and the nozzle before printing.

Re: Missing material
do you also have problems in the other dimensions.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

Hello,
No, have not tried a smaller layer height (.2mm), been sticking to approx 80% of nozzle diameter. I do have issues with other dimensions (x & y) coming out on the small side, didn't know if it was from plastic shrinking as it cooled.
Thanks,
Cris
