Rostock Max V2 goes to DEF DEF when bed is above 90C

I normally print around 70-80C bed temperature, but without an enclosure, printing with ABS needs a bit hotter bed temp. So I had been experimenting the last few days with temps at and above 100C, but I noticed something extremeley strange - halfway through the print the lcd screen will read DEF for both the hotend and the bed. Its not the hotend because when I flip the on/off switch quickly the temp readings return.

So the only thing I can think of is that I made an error when I installed the thermistor and heating resistor to the heated bed, but what could it be and how do I fix it/troubleshoot it?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

"def" shows up when one or both of the thermistors are bad or disconnected. When the "def" (defective) label appears, does it do it at the same nozzle height?

I dunno, thats a good question actually. I have tightened the the conenction on the hotend thermistor and I can try to print something else and see if it happens again. Why would it short out at a certain height though and not another?

Might be a break in the wire that only separates when the wire is at a certain bend angle.
