Prints stopping after each layer

Okay, so I put my original Rostock hot end on after trying the new e3d V6 unit because I needed to print a few parts for work out of pla. Upon putting the original head back on and getting all trammed in, I was able to make nice prints as before. I now have a crazy problem where after printing approx 1/8", the Rostrock wil print one layer, them move towards the y/z part of imaginary part of the triangle created between the 3 towers and stop for 10 seconds or so, then resume printing the next layer and repeating this process....I'm guessing I did something wrong when tramming in the hot end and it's driving my crazy....need help to resolve this issue. This behavior totally ruins the print, all is lost....
Thanks in advance,
Cris

I do believe it is a setting.
You can set the "minimum layer time" for your print. This gives time for the extruded plastic to cool before the next layer is applied.
If you cannot figure it out, try printing 2 of the same part. If it doesnt stop then it is most probably that setting.

Thanks,
I'll have a look, funny thing is the two stl files that exhibited that sort of behavior were downloaded from the net (I was wanting to have an indicator/pen holder). After I posted this issue here, I went back and printed a 20mm cube, and there was no stopping between layers. I'm going to try one of the two original files again this morning as I can't understand how an stl file could influence printing behavior.

Are you using cura to slice? In expert settings, there is the checkbox that enables this feature to allow cooldown time.
