24v install

Had the parts for a little while, just dreading taking everything apart again. Then realized I could just lift the top portion of the bottom housing.
Tomorrow I'll get the thermal images of everything heating up. Curious how the 10awg wire will handle the increase in power (the power-supply is set to 20v).

Clever solution KAS. I'm glad it fitted there.
My 24vs psu is way too big :/

Looks like that 24V psu (which I'm assuming is a Meanwell SP-750 by the looks of it), fits much nicer in the bottom of the Rostock Max V2 than it would in my V1. The size of the PSU and lack of mounting options is why I haven't done my 24V upgrade yet.

Correct, it's the Meanwell SP-750-24. It was a tight fit, and looked a lot better until I started wiring everything up. The SSR doesn't get warm at all, but I decided to shoehorn in a fan near it anyway. The fan from the supply seems to provide ample cooling on it's own.
I'm curious what people are doing for the power switch to the supply? I'm able to power off all accessories but the supply its-self is always running until I unplug it.

What do you mean?
I'm assuming you've added a power switch to the 24v psu and when you turn it off, it turns off everything but the psu itself?
If so, that's weird. My psu do turn off but after 5 secs.

I'm just using a switched powerstrip on my Mendel. I incorporated a fused plug into the wiring cover for the 24V PSU. There are also switched plugs available if you're so motivated. A suitably rated inline switch would also be an option, probably your only one if you want to build it into the base.

Take a look at page three, under the Remote Control section of the manual linked below. I placed the Rostock power switch on the RC connection. When I turn the switch off, it cuts the output power from the 24v terminals. That shuts off the power to anything you have connected to the output terminals, but the power supply itself still runs with the fans going full speed.
From everything I'm reading, I might just have to install a 110v inline switch to turn everything off.

Yep, That looks exactly like what I have to do. I hate to mod the stock looking v2 with more holes, but that might be for the best.
I guess something like this would work well.

That the approach that I took. I mounted the IEC Fused Receptacle in the removable rear panel next to an 80mm exhaust fan centered in the panel.

Lifting the top plate is a great idea! I am using that as an excuse for starting my own 24V conversion
. After dismantling the original Viotek from the base I see a big square hole in the bottom plate. Does this have a function? There is no airflow on the bottom side of the Viotek PSU, neither on the new Delta brand PSU I will be using. The delta looks a lot like the Meanwell. What the best way to fixate this PSU? I am thinking a few stripes of industrial foamtape, but I guess I am lazy...
I also added an 8cm fan to suck the air coming from the PSU out of the base, and added a 240V receptable with fuse too. I think I will be adding airflow to the opposite removeable plate also, to let the PSU fan suck air into the base.

The hole is there to allow the power supply to drop out through it once the screws for it have been removed.

It's a lot like a meanwell you said. This indicates a longer profile to me. Have you considered sitting it in sideways (Like Seeme does with their meanwell style power supplies), and printing some clips that will go up the sides and go over the top? You could then just drill a small hole through the bottom, and screw in from the bottom into the clips.

That sounds like a splendid idea... Except that it won't fit through...
The Viotek is a PC style PSU of which I understand was the original for a MaxV2. But it measures 14x15cm floorsurface, while the hole is 15x12cm. If having headroom enough it would probably fit diagonally first but I have a hard time believing that it would work like that.

Yes, judging from pictures I have seen I guess it is about the sames measurements: 21,5x12cm floorsurface. Your clips suggestion is a godd idea, but I have no working printer at the moment
I think I will settle for the industrial foam tape. It sticks like hell, is probably not very heat resistant, but I don't think the PSU will get hot enough to cause problems.
