extruder feed tube diameter

on my max V1 for the last few days I though I had been dealing with a heat problem, the filament would stop feeding, and the hobbed gear would eat thru the filament. it happened again this morning, but this time I was able to get at it quickly. turns out the black feed tube that sits up next to the hobbed gear (its formed by 2 pieces of injected plastic) and guides the filament into the aluminum piece that the Bowden tube fitting threads into was too small... as if it had shrunk by heating and cooling repeatedly. I actually could no longer feed filament thru it by hand. the holes for the screws that mount the extruder to the bracket were also very small I had to unscrew them out, they would not slide out like they did when the unit was new. a piece of 1.75 filament would not fit.
I had to disassemble the extruder and then drill the hole out with a 2 MM drill bit so that filament would actually feed by hand. up and running again, but it was a hard problem to discover.
