Its been bugging me that I haven't had a set of center caps on my wheels for the past 2 years due to broken tabs.... so what does a guy with a 3D printer and SolidWorks do?

Its too bad most of the plastics we work with won't handle the temps of under hood stuff, I wouldn't mind printing out all kinds of neat things but they'd see 100C frequently. Might have to try out that 910 alloy soon.

Nice!
Check out this kickstarter: http://3dprint.com/59112/orbit-1-monolith-kickstarter/
Electroplating for plastic.

That would make them look even better.

Electroplating plastics can be done much cheaper than that project. I like the design, but plating non-conductive parts has been done for many many years. The process is extremely simple and only one real additional step is required; that would be coating the item in a conductive paint. Something like this http://www.caswellplating.com/electropl ... t-4oz.html Once you have a conductive surface it would be easy to copper/nickel/chrome plate basically anything.

Exactly what I wanted to post but the interwebs weren't responding, I don't get most kickstarters, so many are for basic things that have already been done and done well.
