Found an interesting problem

This might be of some help for new folks just building there Max V2. I've been printing both ABS and PLA, but PLA has been troublesome giving me sloppy prints showing lots of stringers and when the hot end jumps from one feature to another it leaves material that has to be filed off. Figuring that PLA characteristics are different from ABS, I thought this is normal. After reading how great PLA is for printing gears and other machinery parts I felt something was up with my settings and lack of experience. Yesterday I was watching the printer run and noticed when it does a retraction the entire Bowden tube was moving up and down :o due to the little white plastic piece on the upper connecter (cold end) jumping back and forth. I took a short length of .032 solder and wrapped it around the white shank to keep it from moving, and that stopped it. Just printed a large gear and had no issues with extra material being printed, in fact, the gear looks super great!!!!

Thanks,
Cris

Little c-clips work well for that too.
