Hello all, I'm Adam Davis and I play with electronics and computers. I've been watching RepRap and related projects since it was introduced many years ago, and it looks like development has gotten far enough along, and kits inexpensive enough that it was worth jumping in. I'm hoping that I will enjoy it, but even more that my children (6 boys, ages 12 to 1) will learn and grow from having this in our home as well.
I first was introduced to the SeeMeCNC at the Ann Arbor Mini Maker Faire - I had a booth next to them and my children took great delight in playing with the sticker sheet the SeeMeCNC crew was handing out. After visiting their booth at the Detroit Maker Faire I decided to go with the H-1.1 as my first machine with RAMPS and a heated bed. I'm hoping to get a good working machine first, then to start tinkering and am considering trying to do to the electronics package what the SeeMeCNC crew has done with the hardware package. Make it better, and more inexpensive.

Welcome to the forum and the new frontier of home based 3D printing.
Your children are very lucky.
