What's up folks. Just joined the forum although I've been doing research here for a while. First time diving into the world of 3D printing - but I have some experience with metal machining (mostly custom motorcycle parts). I have been flirting with the idea of a 3D printer for at least 3 years - but not until a recent thumbs up from a friend on his experience with the Rostock Max V2 and a few other serindpidous events did I finally pull the trigger.
I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my printer - trying to get myself as acquainted before it arrives, and researching as much as possible.
Seems like a really solid and helpful community, and I'm glad to finally be a part of it.

Well, Scott, Good to see you on the forum! I see you've made the plunge so congratulations! I'm sure you'll enjoy the build just like you have in the past with the multirotor R/C stuff.

Welcome aboard. Run to the Documentation forum and download Gene's assembly manual and read it through at least once. That is the best prep you can do.
cheers,
Michael

Thanks michael. I downloaded the instruction manual - but it was from the seemecnc site. Is that different?
EDIT: it's dates a few days ago. Looks like I have the right one. I've started reading that already - and will probably loop a few times before the build begins

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum!
Anticipating the receipt of a new printer kit can be nerve wracking but you have the manual to read until it comes.
The forum exists to answer any questions you may have so be sure to ask if you have one.
Have a happy build and be sure to send us some pictures of your build as you progress, we love pictures!

Thanks for the warm welcome Eagle. I am actually pretty calm about all this. Lots to learn - but I have some local support and obviously this forum. Manual seems fairly straight forward so far (75 pages in) - so I'm pretty confident I can get it dialed in. Or at least close enough before beginning the panic posts here
