What free tools can open and convert DXF files?

I did some drawing last night for lasercutting, and I found out that DesignSpark can export DXF files, but it can't open or import them... Tried Sketchup and found the same thing. I didn't see a promising extension for Sketchup either. Apparently DXF files are somewhat proprietary.
What free/open software are you using to work with DXF's?

Inkscape will do it. a free cad program that works really well is Draft Sight,,, you have to register it, but it is free. only good for 2d work.

try grabcad workbench,, its free now....

OpenSCAD could import theese easily
