Stops printing Cura sliced files

I've been using Cura for about a month (still using Repetier to print), and it slices really nice.....except....
When I have a longer print, like over 4 hours, it will stop printing. It usually stops about 4 hours or so into the print, and will never recover. This has happened on several models. I have been able to duplicate the issue by printing from the computer and from uploading the G-code to the SD card.
To me, this would indicate an issue with the G-code, but what?
I've seen others bring this up, but nobody has had an answer yet.

Does it kill the job as though it finished? Or does the hot end simply stop?

It simply stops during the print. The hotplate and hotend all stay one, and the hotend sits and melts the print.

Is it always at the same point ?
Same layer number ?

Do you still have communication between the computer and laptop ?, i.e. can you at least home the towers ?

I thought I had something similar yesterday, i.e. it had stopped with the nozzle on the print and there seemed to be a bit of burning/scorching - not sure though, I think it did some higher layers than where that area was supposed to finish.

Yes, it stops at the same spot.
Now, last night I did an 8 hour print without an issue, but I re-orientated the piece. So, I'm wondering if it's only on prints that are tall. Perhaps there's something that is stopping it due to a height limit?
