Hi all

Does anybody happen to have a solid model (STEP file f.ex.) of the RMv2 effector found here: http://repables.com/r/294/

Thanks

Yes, I have one that I can send you. I think mine was converted to a solid model from the stl.

Great :-) can you attach it here or do you need an email address?

oh... my... god... This thing is perfect. If you only knew how much time I and three CAD people (apparently with the wrong tools and/or lack of skills) have spend trying to do what you did...

So... You really (really really) need to tell how you do it? What tools do you use? Or did you convert this into a solid by hand?

Thanks again!

Well, I don't quite remember what I did. It was so long ago. I think I might have brought the stl into Autodesk 3DS Max Design and exported as a sat file. That of course opens just fine in Autodesk Inventor. That's how I usually convert stl's anyway. The free Autodesk Fusion 360 used to convert stls to solids wonderfully but something changed a few releases ago. I haven't tried with the latest update (that I just installed today). Perhaps it works again. Besides that I have some other ninja-fu that I can use. Where there is a will there is a way. ;)

I think I know what happened to it... it is no longer free ;) and I have yet to find a good way to convert these STLs... mmm... thinking...

Autodesk Fusion 360 is still free for personal use.
