Idea: Mini-spools

I often find that I am curious to try out a new type of filament (nylon, PC, ninjaflex, what have you) but who really wants to commit to buying a whole spool for $30+?

It would be cool if you could buy a sample mini-spool that would provide enough filament for one small part. Maybe there could be a standardized part that really shows off the qualities of materials.

Have you guys heard about anything like this?

A lot of companies will send you 10m or so if you ask. Frankly, the cot of packaging (the spool and labor) are the expensive parts. I have a similar issue with a product I sell. It costs me almost the same to package and ship a sample as it does the full size item.
