I was, as well as many others, having a long wait for the bed heating up. I tried the hot pad rag over the bed and also a lid from a large frying pan. Both helped but I also wanted to try something else. I purchased a 150 watt infrared heat bulb from a pet store. It came with a wire frame, socket, and clamp mounting system. I had to reform the grip end of the clamp to grip the side grooves of one of the columns. I placed it as high as I could without hitting the extrude head and stayed alert to remove it when the signal went off that said "I'm ready to start moving" The time to start up for the bed was almost as fast as the head heater. I did not time the bed heat up but I know it was MUCH quicker.

Now we just need to put the light on an SSR and control it with the PID from the Rambo... The World's First (are you listening, Mark?) radiant heated bed.
