Alim flashed, search for a replacement alim in France

Post by cujul »

Hello,

I'm french and I flashed my alim (here it's 220v but the alim was set on 110v when I connected the cable).
It's a Viotek VTK450R 450W, I found it on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068J ... YXEL822RF0

But, I would like a cheaper alternativ, in amazon.fr for example, because I'm french and I will need the alim + the USA->FR adapter.

So, any idea? What alim to choose?

Hey there, John here from seeme. Any 12 volt power supply over 350 watts should work just fine. Im sure you can find one locally for cheap, check a computer store, they might even have used ones they removed from old pcs.

Congratulation, you are not the only one doing that :(. I think they at least should put a big red WARNING! paper sign in the kit too tell people they have to manually set it to 230VAC. I thought the PSU would take anything from 115 to 230V without changing anything - most PSU's do that. If you know someone qualified to fix it, it can be done easily. There is a fuse inside but it is soldered into the board. I just cut the lead wires to the fuse and soldered a new one to the leads. The fuse is 5AF. That way I did not have to remove the board from the case.

But again, this should only be done by someone who know what he is dealing with!
