From Oregon!

Sneaking in while at work, I'll set up my account in a bit.

I did a bit of research and I just ordered a Rostock Max kit yesterday, it will be my first 3D printer.
There were a bit of warnings about getting a delta printer for your first but I'd like to think I'm halfway mechanically inclined and this community seems great, I plan on learning a lot.

Me stuff...
I'm a drafter using primarily AutoCAD and MicroStation but I learned Inventor and Solidworks in school.
I am also almost out of the National Guard (one drill left! after 6.5 years) where I basically coordinated artillery.

I doubt it's relevant but I have family that lives in Goshen where SeeMeCNC is located, hi Aunt Becci!

Hi to you also!
You are going to love assembling your Rostock Max and enjoying all the fantastic things you can print.
With your background in Cad related software you can print whatever you create which is really cool
and I am jealous because I cannot draw a straight line in Cad software.
I want to personally thank you for your service to our great country.
During your build there are many people who can answer any questions that you come up with.
Happy Building!

Welcome! You made a good choice!

The Rostock was my first printer too and I've had an absolute blast right from the start.

That's quite the disability you have there! I can't imagine your daily life...

Thanks for the welcome!

Doing a shipping estimate... I can pick them up tomorrow and have them there the next morning for about... $150 shipping.

Are you from Portland? We go there for lunch occasionally, probably the best steak you can get for under $10.

The Pacific Northwest division grows! The Rostock Max was my first printer too...the best advice I can give is make sure you're not skimping by using dodgy filament. My first major frustration eventually led back to a bad roll of ABS. XD

Great... I ordered a bunch of Chinese filament on Massdrop. I've heard good reviews about the stuff but I've also heard that it's a shoddy Chinese copy.

I also ordered SainSmart ABS-106 to get a color that wasn't on Massdrop. I know nothing about it but the reviews on Amazon seemed pretty decent.

That picture made me hungry and I can't eat all that sugar.
Bet it tastes as good as it looks.
