Cheap nylon snap crackle pop.

I finally took the plunge to try nylon.
Specifically I am trying the blue weedeater nylon, the brand recommended elsewhere on this forum from Amazon.
Some good stuff, it doesn't flake off even when its jammed, like my abs does.
Not so good, there seems to be a delay from starting the extruder till it starts coming out, much more than with ABS.
It is also very slippery, so my extruder is having a hard time pushing it in.
The killer is it makes snap crackle pop constantly. Sounds like tiny firecrackers, even little puffs of smoke.
The nylon laid down looks bubbly.
Varied temperature from 230 to 260, printing at about 245.
So, anyone have this?
I'm thinking a) they changed the composition of the nylon and added some kind of filler,
or b) the nylon has absorbed water from the air
or c) I'm totally wrong about both a and b.
Anyone run into this before?
Anyone run into the nylon not feeding as well as abs? Even when I added some pressure, it tending to slip.
As always, thanks for any thoughts you have to share.
