i've made a handful of useful parts with my Orion so far, with no issues

today is the first time i'm trying to do more than one at a time, i tried to do ten of this clip designed to cap the open end of an aluminum extrusion
and twice now the printer stops printing at the same point in the process

i have printed several of this part prior, but only one at a time

the first time i thought it was because my laptop went to sleep, the second time i babysat and made sure no one went to sleep on the job, but to no avail

repetier shows no errors and i'm at a loss for why it won't complete the prints

both times i've had 1 1/2 hours invested in the print when it fails, would like not to do that again

any insights wise and wonderful forum gurus?

Yep, I've been having the same problem since last June. It's the Repetier firmware on your printer that's causing it. It only happens on larger prints that take longer. The most current version of Repetier firmware that was just released on New Years Day is supposed to fix it, but when I upload the new firmware to my rostock the LCD doesn't show and it doesnt work.

If I were you I'd just start printing the parts individually until SeeMeCNC gets the new firmware working for us. Until then none of us will be able to print large parts that take a long time.

i do 20+ hour prints on both .8 and .83, we need more information to track this issue down.

what slicer are you using?

layer height?

sd card doing the same thing?

I'd never seen the repetier issue, until I tried using Slicer again, and showed up in my first multi hour print. Never seen it on a KissSlicer print, I later tried Cura and it also locked up in the print. The bug is such that it doesn't matter if you print from SDCard, it's a timing issue when the print buffer drains.
It's what prompted me to upgrade to the 0.9 development version of Repetier, it's since been released, you need to setup the LCD to have it work. John is working on a version I believe.

There are many more such links on the Forum. Eventually SeeMeCNC will offer version .91 of Repetier that should fix the problem.

Try printing it from the SD Card, without a USB connection in the picture.

i just started a batch from SD card ..... will post results in about an hour

The bug in question occurs from both SDCard and USB, the printer just stops in the middle of the print.
Some people seemed to have luck by changing the layer depth of the slice to none round values, say 0.19 or 0.21 instead of 0.2.
Personally I've never seen to happen with KissSlicer GCode.

now i can't get it to print correctly at all, the PLA randomly decides not to stick to the plate and fouls the print

switched back to USB with manual control and it's doing the same thing

reminds me of parenting, but i can switch the printer off and pretend it doesn't exist which is a big plus

maybe later .... maybe not, kind of tired of the smell of plastic right now

KissSlicer does have a free version that you could try. Slice with it and give it a try.

Not sticking is usually indicative of a bad first layer height, or bad calibration.

sticking has been addressed and is not my current issue

my printing in general has gone from "satisfactory" to "i can't get a single part to print correctly"

even when trying to print a single part the printer stops extruding right around the same point each time

reading on the forum tells me that PLA temps should maybe be higher than i'm running, currently at 205 which has worked well for me up until a few days ago
my plan is to ramp it up 10 degrees and see what happens

very frustrating, my work output is who i am and at this point my work output is nill

alternately i'll undertake using a different slicer, which i have no idea what's entailed in that
most of you guys are super geniuses in my book whilst i'm naught but a noob

i've actually been able to make a usable part, amazing

was able to accomplish that by raising extruder temp to 215, bed temp 65, speed 50mm

the part wasn't pretty, it has burrs and rough edges

trying to only change one thing at a time, so i'm printing 2 parts this time around

now my extruder won't reach temp, it sits between 214.2 and 214.7 but won't attain 215

bed sits between 64.2 and 64.5 but won't attain 65

i've restarted RH, reset my parameters, redone every single part of the process over and over again

so far today i have 5 hours invested and one sub standard part to show for it

if the machine's purpose was to waste a LOT of my time, it's doing that absolutely perfectly

i give up

If you have a multimeter carefully measure the voltages into the Rambo and see if it reads 12 volts while the hotend and heatbed is on.
You could possibily have a power supply that is beginning to fail.
