This is a project that I downloaded from Thingiverse and was one of the first things I have printed with my Rostock Max. I am new at this so I don't have anything to compare it to but I thought it turned out pretty well. I welcome any comments from those with trained eyes that may see some adjustments I need to make.

They look darned good to me. You must be setup pretty well to produce parts of that quality.
Good job!

Thanks. I was very pleased. I guess you could call it "beginners luck" along with the help of reading everything I could find on this forum. I think I will get better as I print more stuff and do some experimenting.

I've been carrying a screw-together sphere (
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:66824) in my pocket as a ready sample for the "What's this 3D printing thing about, anyway?" conversations that still happen. I think I will print this bolt and carry it for a while instead.

People will ask, "Hey is that a bolt in your pocket, or are you......"

When printing this, I used 25% infill. When I was showing it off to a buddy, he actually twisted it enough to break the smaller inside piece that was screwed in to the femaie piece. So, you may want to use a little more infill than I did. It was a good conversation piece while it lasted. I have got to print another one now.

Mine are already printed at 30% honeycomb infill. Fortunately, I printed two so I have a spare. (-: I used the same green color, but with an orange nut.

Nice print! Are you using PLA or ABS? What speed did you print at?

I printed it with ABS at 50mm/sec.
