Crank Powered Airplane Mobile

I put my Rostock to good use by trying to entertain my 17month old. I made him an airplane mobile for his room, but made it motorized using a hacked IKEA crank-powered flashlight.

Printed parts include the bearing mounting plate, rod holding clamps, counterweight mount, and crank extension.

He wasn't impressed :(

Great idea! How about some blinking lights and maybe an enemy plane instead of washers as counter weight :) Fun stuff! :)

Very cool! Just this morning I was thinking about automating whirly gigs. You gave me a couple of ideas!

Thanks guys. Future plans may include a second plane at the other end, or maybe even a second plane on another bearing so they could race.
Lights are a good idea too that's easy to add
