Make the belts ride in the center
Is there a tried and true method for aligning a belt that tends to ride on one side or the other of the idlers and aluminum tslot? My Y axis is a little off center. I've tried carefully leveling the tensioner bearing and tweaking the belt clamps on the bearing carriage, but neither of those seem to do the trick. Am I missing something, or do some belts just tend to drift?
Re: Make the belts ride in the center
The tensioners I put together (see the "Dan's Rostock Max" build thread) let me fine-tune the belt position by careful adjustment of each side of the idler to lessen the belt's tendency to wander. It still wanders, but not as forcefully. I can push the belt at the top end to any specific position on the idler bearing and it'll stay there for a while until it slowly starts to drift. Really, you need to have some way of fine-tuning the tilt of the drive pulley at the bottom end also. Also, be sure your belt ends are centered at the attachment points on the carriages.
Maybe we could find a way to support the drive pulley shaft at both ends so it can also be fine-tuned.
