Hello! 'm running a Rostock Max V2, ball-joint arm upgrade, with E3D hot end.

Just replaced hot end. While calibrating, I noticed that the bottom ends of the arms that hold the hot end mounting plate are not the same distance from the print bed when the nozzle is in print position... see the pic. The rear arm on the left is much closer to the plate than the rear arm on the right.

Although the Max is printing OK, I wonder if this will cause problems at the extreme edges of the print area. Is there some kind of mechanical adjustment to make here?

Your first issue is that you've got the effector platform on upside down. The ball posts should be on top.

Well, I installed them following these instructions: https://seemecnc.dozuki.com/Guide/Insta ... +10-15)/26 and those ball couplers look like they're on the underside to me. Are the instructions incorrect?

The instructions are not really incorrect, because it works, doesn't it? But When I was doing this upgrade I found that the arms being so close to the bed were an obstruction for checking out how the print goes, so I thought of bringing them to the above side myself, and that is much nicer (but costs a few mm of build height of course...)

So much for following the instructions. Flipped the plate, recalibrated, and all is well. I guess I keep forgetting that these printers are not appliances yet. Thanks to all for the tip. Back to printing!

It was oriented the way you see in the docs when the update first came out, but changed later on for whatever reason. I suspect it's because the original hot end worked great with it oriented the ball-arms under the platform. Technically, both orientations are correct depending on the hot end used. I've updated the docs to reflect this.
