Anyone know how I would do the auto calibration process from within Simplify3D?

Are you asking how to send a G28 and then a G29 to the printer via S3D's "Send" area at the bottom of communication tab on the machine control panel?
This might help

Also, do you realize that there is a calibration item in the machine's LCD panel (I think it simply sends a G29)? I don't have my machine at hand, so I don't recall exactly where it is.

Look in the scripts tab. There is an entry for the start of a print and one for the end of a print among other things.

When I tried to calibrate it directly from the printer it said I needed to attach a memory card. I didn't have one lying around so I haven't finished trying that yet.

Thanks for the responses!
