I cannot seem to figure this one out. My extruder temp always seems to hold up a few degrees below what I have it set to run at. For instance, if I have it set to run at 235 degrees, it will come up to 233.8\233.2 degrees and hover there. I tried shooting for a higher temp, but it still seems to stop a few degrees below what I want. I can pre-heat to a few degrees above what I want then print without any issues.

I am using the he280 and the fan is always on for the extruder.

I had this issue when I upgraded my V2 with the HE280 hot end and the old ATX supply. It would not warm up enough to start printing and just hovered under what the printer expected in order to start. This only happened when my room got cooler and I was trying to print at 230 deg for ABS. Around 200 deg it still hovered just under but by about .5 deg so the printer would start.

Eventually I upgraded to the new power supply and now it still hovers under but not enough under to keep it from starting to print.

I have the power supply that came with the kit (non atx). Maybe a newer more robust power supply is needed.

Try tuning PID first. That the set temperature doesn't alter the behavior suggests insufficient available power is not the issue.

We've tested it on several machines with your issue and it's fixed them. PID tuning will also help. If you don't want to wait for the fan blocker to arrive, you can use kapton tape or something to block the gap between the heatsink fan and the heat block
