Loose Hot End

Hi all,

I have noticed on a few longer prints (4-5 hours) that my hot end is coming loose. Or at least the nut that is holding it in on top is coming loose. I have the stock v2 version of the Rostock Max so there aren't any modifications that might be affecting this. Basically, before I start a print I'll make sure the nut is tight using my fingers (can't move it in either direction) and when the print is done I can easily turn the nut either way when I couldn't have at the start. I'm having some issues with printed edges staying straight and I'm thinking this may be the cause as the hot end has some wiggle room when the nut is loose.

Do I need to tighten the nut with a wrench? I think I remember the instructions, when building the machine, saying to hand tighten and I don't want to break anything. And I'm sure we don't want to use the thread lock either as that would make it difficult to remove/change at some point.

Thanks all!

Loctite or a dab of superglue will keep it in place. It will not be a problem to free the nut in either case (if you use super glue use just a tiny, tiny, small amount, the size of a flea). Don't use too much superglue!

I still have loctite left from the original build so I'll put a little bit on there and hopefully that will help. Thanks!!!
