what are these mystery parts for?

i did not see these mentioned in the instructions. what are they for??

Those would be axle adapters for the injection molded carriages, so that they can be used with U-joints rather than ball joints. You can safely ignore them.

...and I show them in the video for the carriages as not being needed.
