My son's H-1.1 finished and printing

My son built an H-1.1 for his senior project in high school. This is the build that I am documenting to update the Assembly Manual. The build was straight forward and the H-1.1 has many fewer parts and enough similarity to the H-1 that he was able toassemble it with the H-1 Assembly Manual and the updated drawings from SeeMeCNC. So, without further adieu, here is a time lapse sequence of him printing an elephant - not the easiest thing in the world to print!

This printer is running a Gen6 board with Sprinter and Repetier interface. It has the hot bed but its not working yet since the original Gen6 does not support it! We just got a RAMPS 1.4 to add control for the hotbed and a fan. Should be fun. Also planning to switch to the Repetier firmware.

He also has over 10,000 photos of the assembly in time lapse that we'll put together as a video too.

Regards,
Michael

And it went really well. We take it for granted that 3D printing is here now. Most people have no idea that you can do this yourself!

Cheers,
Michael
