Please help! I clogged my e3d hot end with Pet and could not unclog it, so i completely took it apart and unclogged it then re-assembled it. This included taking out the thermistor and putting it back which i feel may have something to do with my issue. Now when i try to connect my printer a message comes up saying Printer set into dry run mode until restart. Also when I open up my controls in matter control it says that the actual temp of the extruder is 1000 C but is still set to 0. On the printer itself it reads "def" for both the extruder and bed temp. What is going on?

Check your thermistor wiring,,, sounds like a wire broke.

Looking at the wiring I've noticed that the insulation at the tip of the thermistor where it goes into the heat block is frayed, so Im thinking that the wires touched eachother or the block and fryed the thermistor. Ive ordered a new one so we'll see what happens, and thanks for the reply!

The thermistor won't be "fried", but a fresh start with clean insulation isn't a bad way to get things back together again. If you had some kapton tape, teflon sleeving, or some other kind of insulation, I'd bet that you could get back up and running in short order.
