It doesn't really squeak, it can rattle a bit.
If there is an issue and I had to guess, you probably didn't seat the bearings all the way into the large gears, they need to be pushed in all the way and they go further than just flush. If you don't seat them all the way they rub against the gear behind, which is what I'm assuming the squeak is, it will also impact performance quite badly.

I had some squeaking on my Z carriage. It was always intermittent and it went away on its own, so I didn't investigate. My squeak sounded like the melamine was rubbing someplace, not metal on metal.

I had a horrible squeaking problem with mine...

I took apart the center axle and found a bunch of white powder between the two gears that rub together....I suspect there was a burr in the plastic I didn't notice when I assembled it....I wiped up that powder and put it all back together and it doesn't squeak anymore...

Mine Squeaked too. you can hear it on an early print vid several weeks ago of mine here: (Watch in 1080P)

it was dirty and not quite tight enough. a few of those small gears in my kit were chipped, thus far have not affected performance.

Mine was extra noisy due to having over tightened the left hand gear bolt. It caused the sides of the gears to rub on each other.

Hey Guys!

I had the same problems with my extruder.

WHen I tightened the main bolt with the middle drive, it would squeak and rub badly, but it was needed to tighten the gears.

What I did was take it apart, and reverse the 2nd inner large gear, I also reversed both knurled 3mm drive rollers AND took out and reversed all the Bearings.

I also noticed the DRIVE IDLER assembly...when I turned it, the roller was shifting back and forth slightly, so this would cause it to GRIP the ABS then another half turn it would be LOOSE as it was slightly further from it.

This was causing very bad feeding, any slight resistance would make them RUB and hence rub material off on the rollers.

By reversing BOTH the Rollers I noticed also it was moving without any oscillation.

When I put it together I could TIGHTEN the main drive Wheels ( Combination Gear15T 28T and large Gear 28 Tooth assembly... the one's that touch the Motor wheel ) without any grinding or noise as the whole assembly has to be tight there so there is no slippage.

After assembly the whole extruder was SOLID, no moving of the Drive Idler then worked PERFECT and nothing slipped.

Hope this helps someone!
