Raft Printing Issues

Hi all, I've had my Rostock running for about 6 months now. Early on, I chose to use the CuraEngine slicer option within matter control and have been really happy with the printing results. However I'm trying to do a pretty large print with large overhangs at the moment and it keeps failing, likely due to the minimal adhesion of the support material to the bed. I'd like ot print it with a raft to fix this, but the Cura slicer doesn't seem to have a raft option.

I'm about to try it with Matterslice but my prints with that slicer were not very attractive early on, so I'll see what happens but keen to know if I'm missing something on the Cura slicer??

I also looked at using Slic3R within mattercontrol but found that whils the part shows central on the plate, when I hit generate, the part flies off the plate and I can find a reason for that, so slic3r appear to be not an option.

Thanks for any help.

Paul

I'm dumbfounded they still haven't fixed that. Slic3r integration in MC has a bug since they changed the bed definition in Slic3r a few versions back. You can download a standalone copy of Slic3r at http://www.slic3r.org, use standalone Slic3r to generate gcode, and load that into MC.

You can also download a separate version of Cura and see if the option you are seeking is in the standalone version.

Thanks IMBoring25 and Eaglezsoar. I'll give them a go.

You could also use Repetier host instead of Matter Control.
Cura and Slic3r are built in.
Yes, you can do a raft with either.
