I guess SeeMeCNC had some bug when they flashed the RAMBo that erased the boot loader, at least that's what the description says on this video. That video is from a while ago, maybe it's a different problem now, or maybe it was never fixed?

A bit odd, yes, but I figured I'm learning more about how the machine works...
Great job with that bus Pirate !! Just one thing, I expended, taking into account the shipping costs plus fees at customs, more broken pulleys and a new power supply plus an AVR programmer, more than 1500 $ (500 of the original price) still, I bought a 3d printer kit, not a learning kit ...

I mean, sure, ultimately they were the vendor... but it's made (and warrantied?) by Ultimachine... they would have been the ones to talk to, I believe? Or were there some other things? Pulleys that broke?
I think SeeMeCNC, decided at some point to send boards without bootloader to prevent users insert their hands in too deep subjects such as firmware, thus to avoid problems with users not skilled in this work. Then I guess SeeMeCNC regretted this decision.

To be honest I don't think they do anything with the boards. It seems to be the stock Rambo kit sealed from what I can tell. Ultimachine's QC can't be perfect. I think SeeMeCNC used to add firmware onto them before, but now they let the user do that.
