With all that wire running to the effector and the water hoses, I want to keep things light and flexible as possible. The water hoses are silicone so they are nice and flexible.
Silicone jacketed wire would be the best but that stuff is super expensive.

You might want to see what HobbyKing.com offers by way of high-temp (silicone) wire.

You need four M3-.5 x 10 screws to mount the Kraken to the Konnector and three 6-32 x 5/8 screws and washers to mount the Konnector to the effector. I've attached the STL here:

Well, that was a fiasco. I tried to order some silicone jacketed wire from HobbyKing. The order went to PayPal, and when PayPal returned the HobbyKing website said the order failed. I then checked PayPal and the payment was indeed made to HobbyKing. I then attempted to call customer support and was on hold for 20 minutes. I then used their text chat support. It took 30 minutes to get a rep, she asked for the PayPal transaction ID, and then it took 15 minutes for her to say that do to the error an order number was not processed. They will request a refund to my account that may take 7 business days to process. I won't be shopping there anymore. Any other *good* sources for this wire?

Michael, what type of wire (AWG etc) were you wanting to buy. I'll see where I can find it.
Thanks for creating that mount and sharing it with us.

I can search, I just wanted to know if anyone had a recommended store. I am looking for 16 and 24 gauge wire in black and red single strand.

I just bought what I needed from 2 ebay vendors - 16 and 26 awg. Both shipped free and will arrive by Tuesday. Should have gone there first!

Wow. I've NEVER had that kind of a problem with HK. Sorry!

No worries. I am sure when things work they are fine. But not being able to handle connecting my payment to a purchase is a bit odd. They must do such a high volume business that they can't afford the service that would require. PIA though!

Both of the silicone jacketed wire packages arrived today and are perfect. The 16 gauge for the heaters is just right and nice and flexible. The 26 is paired black/red so it will be very convenient to wire the thermistors. I can get started wiring things together now. I'll focus on 2 nozzles on the left side of the Kraken and once those are good, I should be set for the other side once I figure out firmware to support them.

I got the same notice. He takes a while to ship but it is worth the wait when you open the box
and see the quality of his boards.

Michael, I am giving some thought on making the cooling for the Kraken a closed system with a reservoir, radiator with fan and coolant.
I know that it is not necessary but would like your opinion on doing this.

I think it is very interesting. That little radiator was pretty cool! It does require a fan though but that isn't too problematic, just wire it in with the pump circuit and they both go on and off together. I've been thinking about adding a thermistor to the cooling block on the Kraken and then instrumenting Repetier so that when it reaches a certain temperature, say 50°C, to turn on the pump automatically and then turn it off when the temp cools. That way I won't forget to turn it on!
I haven't really started on that yet but it seems to make a lot of sense and we'll have extra thermistor inputs with the X3 Pro.

Not the best but the least expensive I could find that I thought would work as a closed system.
I am going to add a 120mm fan on the radiator and use a mixture of antifreeze as the coolant.
Overkill for sure but this way I know it will not overheat.

Of course my Azteeg X3 Pro is supposed to be delivered tomorrow - during the major snow storm we're expecting in New England!

You guys have really been getting nailed this year with all the snow and winter storms. We've had a few but nothing like what your area has experienced.
Must be the global warming.

The worse part is, they always happen on days that I'm expecting goodies in the mail!

looks like a nice platform, you could probably add some layer fan shrouds that come out from the sides so you dont have to screw anymore stuff directly into the effector

Yes, that's a good idea. First I need to get the Kraken crack'n and then I can tweak this to add the mounts. I also want to add integrated wiring clips. There are LOTS of wires going to 4 hot ends!
