Hello all,
I bought a 2 in 1 extruder awhile back and am only now getting around to installing. Everything appears to be fine accept when I try turning on heat to new extruder. As soon as I turn on the preheat on matter control. Fuse F3 blows on Rambo. The only difference I can see visually is the new heater element is 6x30mm where the original is 6x20mm. It also seems there is a slight resistance difference. The 6x30 is about 1.3ohms the 6x20 is 4ohms.
could this be a faulty element? I am now down for about two days. waiting for my replacement fuses to show up from amazon. Thanks!
2 in 1 Dual Extruder immediately blows fuse.

My searches say F3 is a 5A fuse. Putting 12V through a 1.3 ohm load you're pumping almost 10A through it. A 120W heater is a little much for a hot end circuit.

Yep. it has to be a faulty element. it should be 3A 36W with 4ohm@12V. That will teach me to buy the cheap gear.... again....
Thanks!
Thanks!

They make the fuses in 10 amp also, it may be worth a try.
The original 5A fuse is
LittleFuse 0451005.NRL
The 10A version is
LittleFuse 0451010.NRL
Both available at Mouser and Digikey.
