I have had some success with using what I call HIPS Paint as a bed primer - I dissolve a bunch of HIPS filament in a small amount of d-Limonene overnight, which creates a gloopy white-yellow liquid that I apply to the bed with a paint brush.
ABS and HIPS seem to stick to this quite well. However the trick is at the end of the print - instead of trying to wrench / prize the cooled part off of the bed, I put a bit of d-Limonene around the edges of the base of the part and into any vertical thru holes, and leave it for 10-15 minutes. After this period of time, the d-Lim has dissolved the majority of the HIPS paint sticking the part down to the bed, so removing it is much easier, sometimes you can just pick the parts up by hand and they come free. I much prefer this to the ordeal of separating ABS parts from an ABS-juice painted bed.
At present I've got this HIPS Paint on top of Kapton tape, but I was wondering if anyone else has done HIPS Paint but straight to glass? As the d-Lim i use to eat the HIPS paint when removing the parts, also eats the adhesive that sticks the Kapton to the glass, a bit of a pain.
Any thoughts on HIPS paint straight to glass or other variants would be useful, cheers!
Using HIPS juice / goo / paint primer - straight to glass?

Go for it.
Glass should be pretty much immune to chemical damage.
You have to think about how to clean-repaint it. If you do not see any problems the you should be good.
