New newb on the block!

Post by Herrminator117 »

Hello!

My names Nate, currently in college for civil engineering at Ohio State. Also pursing a career in the Air Force through ROTC. I am brand new to 3D printers and as I always love things that are outta the norm, so of course I started with a delta! Purchased my RM2 last week and have had it built since Monday. Man is this thing addicting! I've got 6 or 7 ABS prints. Three being 5+ hours and about 9inch tall. I must have gotten pretty lucky. As all of my prints have turned out fantastic other than one that had minimal splitting. I'm planning on building a enclosure here today or tomorrow and I'm putting dampeners on today! (That dorm life, close proximity to the max)

Currently I use Inventor as my primary CAD, but have practice in SolidWorks and traditional AutoCAD. I'm attempting to learn some MeshMixer, Blender, and SCAD here at the moment. But if you ever need help in Inventor or SW lemme know! Always happy to help out!

We'll that's me and glad to be here!

Welcome! I think you'll enjoy life in the AF when you get there. It's treated my family and I decently so far these last 18 years...

We have a few SW pros roaming the forums. It's amazing what you engineers can design, while I'm printing yoda heads trying soak everything up like a sponge.

Anyways, well met!
