Hello I'm a Noooob, please help
Hey guys and gals, my name is Jeff ans i'm from Oregon. Finished my RosMax2 build in just 17 hours. It seemed strange, but went quite smooth! However when I went to calibrate, I could not get any axis movement. I went through all the steps to calibrate, with not a single movement. The board fires up, the heat bed works great and the hot end comes up to temp. I just want to see this baby move! Any ideas, please help!!! Thank you all and I hear good things from this forum so I have confidence!

Hey Jeff, have you made sure your stepper motors are wired into the RAMBO correctly?
If so, you may try clearing your EEPROM using the EEPROM_CLEAR script in the arduino programmer, like Geneb directs us to do in the manual. After it successfully uploads the clear command, shut your printer off, then turn it back on and it should have a blank screen.
After you reach this blank screen, make sure to grab a fresh version of the REPETIER-FIRMWARE from here, just to make sure you don't have a corrupt download.
Unzip the file and flash Repetier.ino in Repetier-091-ROSTOCKMAX/Repetier-091-ROSTOCKMAX/Repetier/ to your board using arduino, and then see if any of that helped!

Jeff, there are fuses on the Rambo board that are very small and kinda look like a surface mounted component but they are in sockets. The printer needs to be unplugged from all power and the fuses checked with a multimeter.
To find sources for these fuses just open your browser go to google.com and type in site:forum.seemecnc.com Rambo fuses and it will find occurrences of the Rambo fuses throughout the entire forum.

Right on guys thanks! I'll try clearing the EEPROM and reinstalling the firmware again, thanks Jay. Eagle thank you for the info! I'll bust out the meter and check those fuses! What a great intro to 3D printing!

So here is the update guys. I re-installed the firmware with a fresh download, still no z movement. Checked the three on-board fuses that i found, the lower one, just above the large on board capacitor is reading open. Oh, here is the RAMBo schematic, apparently this is the F2 Motor fuse
Pretty sure i blew this fuse when tinkering so this all adds up. I'll have to find a replacement fuse online, but this is a great start!

Glad you found out what your issue was! Sorry for running you through the steps of a firmware reflash, Eagle has been here a while longer than me and so has MUCH more knowledge on all these things.

All motors not moving is related to a power supply issue. I.e. power not delivered to the board. So it is usually an easy diagnose and fix. If it is not an exotic fuse like you have (depending on where you live).
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

Glad you found the fuse. To get you up and going until you can get the replacement NanoFuse, some of our guys have soldered a blade type automotive fuse (like the large fuse located at the top of the board) to the ends of the opened NanoFuse and clipped it back in the Rambo. Just don't get carried away with fuse size or bridge it solid. There could also be a valid reason why the fuse opened.

So many great replies! I should have soldered a blade fuse to get things moving as nitewatchman suggested. However i was patient and awaited my mouser order. They arrived today and i popped the fuse into the F2 slot. Entered the M119 command and haven't looked back. Thank you guys! This probably wont be my last post, however next time ill look at the RAMBo board printout
