Slow down as print gets larger.

Post by McSlappy »

I was testing the MatterSlicer on this object: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:126567

Seemed to slice well, everything looked good with settings for Spiral Vase. It was printing quite well but as the height rose the printer slowed down until at it's widest point (the midpoint of the print height) it was probably going 75% of the regular speed and it seemed to have micro pauses between the gcode lines. The print suffered a little as a result. As the print rose and the diameter narrowed it sped up again (or the pauses became less) and was going at full speed near the finish.

Any thoughts on why this might be? I'm liking MC so far, but this is a strange issue.
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

The new version's preview screen shows print speed as colour (ROYGBIV from fast to slow) - does it show the print speed change through the layer stack?
