Hey folks just got my Rostock Max pretty much finished and wired.
Using Repetier Host, using the M119 command I get
x_max:L y_max:H z_max:L
When I use the G28 command, the Y motor only rises about an inch then stops
Any idea what is wrong? I can't get by this.
Should I rewire the Y Motor? is something stuck?
I also got a non working Limit Switch in the kit which isn't helping but it's on my Z motor.
This is my 1st 3D printer so I'm not familiar with what to make of this
thank you in advance
Anthony
Rostock Max Problem
Re: Rostock Max Problem
Not sure if this helps, but one troubleshooting step might be to switch where X and Y motors attach to the Rambo ... just to see if the motor behaves any differently. My guess is that it will not. Checking the connections is worth a try. A few other RostockMax users have soldered all the motor connections to ensure reliability.
Also maybe checking the behavior of the endstop. If you have a multimeter, you can check to see if it's open and closed as desired. And I wonder whether a non-functioning Z endstop would interfere with the Y motor.
I too had a bad endstop switch, although my kids were "examining" it and may have broken it before I tried to install it. I bought a similar one at a local electronics shop and it's been working fine.

Re: Rostock Max Problem
Thank you!
I got the motors working by rewiring the one and soldering ( I soldered everything ) and got: x_max:L y_max:L z_max:L
I found I had 2 limit switch wires connected in the wrong ports.
I didn't see any X Y Z on the board but I put a flashlight to it and matched the wires up and it works! Except for the 1 switch.....hopefully my electronics store has them.
thanks
