Ya know, the more I see that green on there the more I like it. It doesn't overwhelm the senses like
some colors do and just seems to fit. Good choice!

Houston we have a F@#@g Problem. While tightening down the axle support , it broke. Guess I could make one out of wood or maybe superglue/jbweld this one back together , anyone seen this happen before. Thanks btw , yeah enjoying the green.

should be able to use some the scrap to make another one. Didnt really over tightened it.

Email SeeMeCNC, they are really good with replacement parts. If not, I think just a good glue repair will be fine. In the new R3 version on the Max, http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=4226 they don't even use this bearing assembly.

they have phased those back thingies out like said above... i don't think they are truly needed. once you get your printer up and running if you want one you can just print it

On the third page of that thread link I posted Johnoly says they are not needed. geneb says somewhere in there that he thinks it will make getting the proper adjustment on the skates easier. I think it's totally up to you. :?:

what i did was adjust the cheapskates to gene's spec/video with just the cams, then after that i added those back bearings just tight enough to touch and spin but not impact the motion. often they are tightned too tight and it will cause the front of the cheapskate tnuts to rub against the tslot

Yeah I remember reading about the R3 saying it seemed needed on paper , but wasnt . Yeah my skates are dialed in pretty good , the axle support would stop vertical movement but I have none. Save me some time thanks.

Here come some belts.

Yeah I just raised the skates up and tightened the bottom till it wouldnt drop , then loosened till it dropped , tightened and did the same to the top. Seems like a good method , lmk.

After your u-joints are working well (flick test), lubricate them!!! I think there was some early advise that they should not be lubricated, but not doing so will most likely result in galling after a period of time.

I discovered that one u-joint on each axis was firmly welded this weekend and had to be "persuaded" off the shaft. Others on the forum have experienced the same issue also.

Super Lube, ViperLube, or Lubriplate are all good and safe for the plastics and won't readily migrate when hot.

I think some of the Home Depot's and HWI's may carry Super Lube.

Most all of the food safe greases will be good with the plastics.

Almost done with the onyx pad , ran out of solder, brb.. Also I dont have any kapton tape , under what I needed didnt see it there and figured wasnt needed or was includeded , I see I need some on the hot end , but what is the purpose and can I substitute with something I do have? This is what I have done with the hot end resistors so they do not contact the hotend.

I hope you have some insulation for those resistor leads, when you twist them together it is a common place for short as it comes into contact with the heat block.

Yeah looking at getting some Kapton tape on amazon , anyone know a good source for Kapton tape or even a local spot I can get it from. From what ive been seeing hard to find local place that would carry , guess I could call some hobby stores tomorrow.

More like it!
