Re-post- If you want to paint the edges, do it before you pull the masking off the parts :D
-I would also consider this door mod: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:171424
-Make sure you check your aluminum extrusions for trueness. Flat, straight, no twist.

There are a lot of mods, probably the best way to search for them is to make a list of part names, like "cooling fan" or "delta arms"
Have fun! ;)

Thanks for the info I might decide to paint the edges , like grabber green or something that pops.

As someone who painted their Rostock MAX before construction I gotta say that it definitely lends a lot to the look of the printer ;) http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 8&start=30

You might also try using a 1/4" wide, "fuel proof" trim tape. You can find that at any local hobby shop that caters to R/C aircraft.

Got some Green model paint and tested it on a scrap piece. I thought about if I need to have a base/primer/sealer but as I thought about it more the edges are sealed by the laser cut , cauterized. updated Painted Base

Thanks , Im liking it , I got some ideas for maybe some yellow , radioactive like theme going on. RIght now Im in the process of Tri stepper mounts. But they seem to skip a step right before mounting the first motor. Figuring it out. Hopefully , looks like I need to mount the motor first to 68364 motor mount.

Was about to ask what is BUI then it hit me , good one , building under the influence. Yeah good thing I stopped last night who knows what would have happened. Well I have completed the base, got it all tight , then I seen this

Did I really , I only had to take most of the screws around the door and was able to flip without removing the top.

Funny took a vacation day , because of my back , and building this is so painfull , but I cant stop.

I think that door flip happens more than people are willing to admit. :)

The door mod I posted earlier here, would have saved you some trouble  :)

I'm going to do it to mine. There are just times the doors get in the way

Well, back at it this morning. Working on the carriage u-joint mounts , im not having to sand anything of them , but there is side play , very little and seems equal on all 3. Is this okay ? " but has no side-to-side play." <--- I have side to side , best way to shim?

heres an updated picture.

You are running stock u-joints and the newer SeeMe stock arms, correct? If you have side to side play at the ujoints, I would try some elastics near the joints top and bottom. This is how Trick Laser CF arms deal with any lash at the joint. http://tricklaser.com/images/1369294770 ... 56345.jpeg And these arms works fantastic!
I would just be careful not use elastics with so much power that they cause bowing and or binding at the joint. IMO shimming is tricky, if you cause any binding at the joint it will cause you grief printing :( Build looks great! I like the green :) Good luck!

Good work! I agree with Batteau62 about the bands around the arms. Trick Laser used to sell them but I no longer see them listed.
You could send a PM to bvandiepenbos (The owner of Trick Laser) or send them
an email and ask about purchasing the bands.

Thanks everyone , that looks like the way to go , I should be able to fab something up that lightly holds tension on the arms , hopefully.

I got the zero last straps with my trick laser arms, so they're definitely still in production. Can't hurt to ask for them though!

^ I need to check into those. Just got the cheapskates assembled and adjusted , I raise it up and tightened the cams one at a time till it wouldnt fall then loosened untill it released and tightened. Seems pretty smooth everything turning like should.
