Extending stepper wires made easy...

Post by geneb »

When I was rummaging around on the site that had the crimping demo video, I ran across these connectors:

http://hansenhobbies.com/products/conne ... in_lp_1x4/

They offer male and female latching connectors of what appears to be the same type that Ultimachine is using for the RAMBo.

They also offer the correct crimp sockets and pins for these connectors. If you don't want to mess around with soldering up an extension cable for your extruder drive, this would be the way to go! This will make life easier if you want to mount your extruder top side as well - you could make extenders if different lengths easily.

I wouldn't recommend using wire nuts for _anything_ on a 3D printer.
