How to get faster prints?
How to get faster prints?
I have a Rostock Max V2. I'm running Standard Quality with default Speed settings. Infill 40, Top Solid Infill 30, Inside Perimeters 40, Outside Perimeter 35, Support Material 40, Bridges 60, Travel 300, First Layer Speed 12. I've tried increasing most of these values to 60 mm/s and had virtually no change in print time. MatterControl estimates 1 hour and 24 minutes to print a Maker Faire Robot: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40212. Normally it completes at about 1 hour. I can print this in under 15 minutes on my Thing-o-matic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's very small. It's almost guaranteed to be in your cooling settings. If you're using a material that will accept some cooling fan, you can do less cooling slowdown. Alternatively, you can probably make four on your current settings with comparatively little increase in total print time.

I think that's it. The Slow Down If Layer Print is Below was set to 40 seconds. I'm going to try it at 5. MatterControl is now giving me 29 minutes. Thanks for the help!

Re: How to get faster prints?
The remaining difference is likely in some combination of nozzle size, layer height (which is a fairly direct trade-off of surface quality vs print time), and/or infill type and percentage.
Re: How to get faster prints?
Using 5 seconds dropped the print time to 15 minutes.
