Re: The Original Rostock
Just realized the first edition rostock max machines don't have the predrilled holes for the onyx upgrade. Does this mean I have to pull everything apart and drill those holes? Dang thought i was almost there.

Re: The Original Rostock
Darn, Wish I saw your post earlier. I just received the trick arms and care package from seemecnc with eztruder and onyx board today. Going to see if I can finish up this build asap so we can start printing. [img]https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yv3m3FWtayM/UmhFUIZibLI/AAAAAAAAAqU/Xnab1It4x_M/w426 ...

Re: The Original Rostock
Awesome thanks, I just ordered the onyx and ez with new nozzle, can't wait to get those and finish up this build. I've been seeing some pictures of the new machines, they look awesome with that tall black body. Makes me wish I waited.

Re: The Original Rostock
Ah Ok thanks for that distinction, I just thought the E3D had it's own extrusion mechanism. Is the new eztruder considered a direct drive extruder?

Re: The Original Rostock
Ok after removing all the arms and trying to sand down the u joints on both the carriage and effector, i realized my time would be better spent doing anything else, so I decided to just drop the extra dough and go with the trick arms. Hope they get here soon. About to order some stuff from seemecnc ...

Re: The Original Rostock
I'm trying to find the best balance of cost and time. So probably have to pass on the Trick arms, they seem like a future upgrade for sure at $100. The new Rostock arms seems highly touted at $16. So probably going to just order a new nozzle and 40w heater cartridge as Gene has suggested as well ...

Re: The Original Rostock
Thanks for all the good tips, I will start shopping around for these upgrades now. Seems like I would have to build the Xnaron Magnetic Arms and order an e3d from the UK. Guess this will put this on hold for a bit until the parts come in. Maybe I'll ask around see if seemecnc has anything laying ...

The Original Rostock
Hi Fellow Printers, I've been moving around quite a bit for the last year and finally settled down in Los Angeles. Now I have some time on my hands to finish off this build for the original Rostock via indiegogo campaign. Been poking around the forums and realized how much Rostock has advanced since ...
