Re: e3d V6 hot ends not extruding
After further testing it looks like that nozzle might have been a little on the small side, or possibly clogged still. I noticed that if I cranked up the heat to 247C with my ABS in the nozzle it would extrude about 50% of the distance expected and then have a ton of oozing after. This was ...

Re: e3d V6 hot ends not extruding
After getting it to extrude for a brief moment before it started grinding on the ez struder I pulled out the filament and it looked like this WP_20140901_004.jpg For those curious that filament length is ~20mm from the PTFE tube to where the filament tapers. I measured how long my Tube is extending ...

Re: e3d V6 hot ends not extruding
I don't quite know what you mean by "and to the top of the V6" But I did *eventually* follow the instructions to put the Bowden tube completely into the extruder so it touches the heat break. I did try running filament with it possibly not quite there yet, but when I looked at the heatbreak after it ...

Re: e3d V6 hot ends not extruding
This issue was showing up with both PLA and ABS filament (1.75mm). I re tightened the heatblock nozzle assembly when the nozzle was heated to 235C, and the nozzle was still slightly out when tight, indicating that the nozzle is firmly against the heatbreak but that didnt fix the issue. The clog ...

e3d V6 hot ends not extruding
I have equipped my Max V2 with 2 e3d V6, though only one is plugged in right now, and I have had trouble getting them to extrude correctly. first night I installed the extruder it worked perfectly, and I printed out a 1.5 hour object at equal or better quality compared to the default. The next ...

Re: Overhang help 'Chins' dont print well on parts
Thanks Gestalt for taking the time/filament to print that out in order to help me. I will try and replicate the results you got tomorrow (I am traveling today). Out of curiosity, your print speed on perimeters is much lower than mine, I usually use about 40mm/s, do you normally print that slowly or ...

Re: Overhang help 'Chins' dont print well on parts
The model was a small Low Poly Bulbasaur from Thingiverse Using Cura it took about 50 minutes to print, most of my pla prints have come out better on Cura than Slic3r because of stringing. I dont know if Cura lets you change the direction of perimeter loop printing, I know where the setting is in ...

Overhang help 'Chins' dont print well on parts
I often find that the "Chin" of whatever model I am printing tents to come out stringy and blobby. WP_20140731_003.jpg WP_20140731_001.jpg I have had this happen on other models as well, and I am wondering which setting I should try to change. I suspect it is related to print speed and temperature ...

Re: Too Fast movement and small bumps using Cura
I should have clarified about my printing process. I was printing Gcode from Cura, through Repetier Host, so the Esteps thing was set to 0 on Cura, which uses the stock one for the firmware. I am printing with ABS at 210 Degrees (My spool reccomends 215-245) so I dont think it is overheating. I ...

Re: Too Fast movement and small bumps using Cura
I stuck my hand in there during some printing today and the Rambo fan was working and it was quite cool in there. The Gyro ball print was at night so it was cool then as well. From what I was reading today the over extrusion thing seems like a Cura issue at times. It could be overextruding if Cura ...

Too Fast movement and small bumps using Cura
I have had my Rostock working for a few days now and have been using Cura recently since I have heard good things and it appeared to be much faster for certain prints I wanted to do. However I have had trouble with strange bumps on curved surfaces, and some flat surfaces as well. I am thinking it is ...

Re: Y tower will only go down
I contacted support, so I guess I will find out on Monday what they think I should do. Just to be safe I ruled out the switches by switching the wiring for the x and y switches on the RAMBo to see if that moved the problem as well, and it did not. Thanks for you help. EDIT: I Changed the pinout that ...

Re: Y tower will only go down
So I just switched the X and Y ports on the RAMBo controller and now the problem has moved to the X tower. Sooo it would appear that my rambo board has a bad y stepper motor terminal. Is this a fixable issue, or do I just need to get it replaced.

Y tower will only go down
I just finished building my Rostock Max V2 and when I reached the point in the assembly guide where it asks you to "Home" the printer. When that starts the x & z axis move up to the stops, and the y axis moves down. I checked the end stop switches and they are working (according to Repetier-Host all ...
