Issues with artifacts and over extrusion
Hello all- I'm finally resurrecting my pre-wifi Duet Rostock Max V2 and I'm having some issues getting the kinks worked out. I'm seeing artifacts in the walls of my prints, and what looks like over extrusion. Please see the attached image. My printer is set up this way: Tricklaser CF non-ball end ...

Re: Firmware for Older 0.8.5 boards
Damn, upgrading both firmware and web control to 1.21RC3 took minutes once I converted to hard coded IP. That might be a good thing to call out in the docs.
Thanks DC42!!!!

Re: Firmware for Older 0.8.5 boards
Changed from dhcp to hard coded IP and my 1.18.2 installed board is now reachable!
Now to move on to try to install 1.21RC3. Can you go direct 1.18.2 to 1.21RC3 or do you need to go to 1.19 first?
Do you have a patreon where we can donate? Your work and support from the Duet is fabulous.
Mark.

Firmware for Older 0.8.5 boards
Hey all- I have an older non-wifi Duet- 0.8.5. Does anyone know what the highest rev of firmware is that you can put on it? I can't seem to find a definitive answer, or perhaps I'm not 100% sure where to look. I can get to 1.8.2 by installing 1.09 first, but after 1.8.2 it seems to lock up the board ...

Re: BerdAir comeing soon From Yellow Jacket Concepts
So can a berd air be used entirely instead of layer cooling for materials like PLA or do you still need layer fans?

Re: Issues with overhangs and largeish print
Ok, I'll go back and try to reprofile the ABS. I think those little blebs may be from humidity- I live in a very humid climate, and that abs has been sitting out for months, if not a year. Baking the abs might be a good idea too, to get rid of the humidity. It seemed to be flowing just fine when I ...

Re: Issues with overhangs and largeish print
I think the delaminating between layers is a matter of actually building a heated enclosure.

Issues with overhangs and largeish print
Hey all- I'm having some issues printing off a couple of larger pieces. In particular I seem to be having issues with overhangs and support. I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on what might be happening? I'm printing in black ABS with a shower curtain enclosure. There are so many problems here it ...

Your duet mount is beautiful. Mine didn't turn out so good.
What material did you print it from? How much support/infill? Gorgeous, just gorgeous.

Re: V2 Enclosure
I haven't finished printing it yet, but I think the door hinge stl may be on a goofy angle. I can't figure out how to fix it in kisslicer though, and get the largest flat surface against the bed of the printer. Is this something that can be changed in the original file, or am I just missing how to ...

I am getting closer to the root of my problem.
I think one of the FSRs close to the z axis is triggering a little earlier than the one between the x and y axis:

Re: Vertical Banding Revisited
In today's lesson I learned that reading is hard, and that I'm better off using search instead of eyeballing the file for the value I need. Here is how I have these set presently, they are exactly your values: M566 X1200 Y1200 Z1200 E1200 ; Maximum instant speed changes mm/minute M201 X1000 Y1000 ...

Re: Vertical Banding Revisited
I have mine all set to zero for m566, but those settings are so specific to the actual printer... Does anyone have a good way of accurately measuring this? I'm going to do some more googling but that setting does look tough to nail down accurately...
Edit: I have M201 set to 1000 for each.

Re: Quick Start guide?
That's the problem with the software industry, there's always someone out thinking you, and always someone ready to eat your lunch. What about hiring a couple of programmers and guiding the development of an all new slicer? Are you interested in putting out a commercial product? You appear to know ...

Re: Quick Start guide?
I've been looking around at new slicers, and was thinking of simplify3d. Glad I stumbled on this post. I'll stick with Kiss. Too bad development seems to be happening at a glacial pace.

Re: First Layer Issues
MUCH better results I think. I tightened all the belts, replaced the FSR mounts with better prints of my own design, and tweaked the FSRs so that they all appear to trigger on the same amount of pressure ( unscientific but...). I tried the same thing three times to make sure I was getting consistent ...

Re: First Layer Issues
Tensioning the belt made a big difference, I still need to tweak the fsr setup though, one of my fsrs isn't triggering as fast as the others. I'm going to replace the neoprene washer and see if that makes a difference.

Re: First Layer Issues
I had a super loose belt. Tightened it up, and the print is better. I'm going to print off the other two fsr mounts, get them installed, and see if that helps.
That's a great idea, I'll do that as soon as the mounts finish printing.

Re: First Layer Issues
I've had pretty good results out of it before. I've tried using a machinists square on the towers and they seem pretty square to the platforms.
My hunch is also the fsr mounts. I have one of your design printed, I'm trying to get the other two out of it.

First Layer Issues
Hey all- I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong... Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated... I am having a hard time getting a good first layer. My setup is: Rostock Max V2 Duet PEI on top of glass on top of Onyx. I'm using kisslicer at the moment, but I'm open to trying something new. http ...
